CONCEPT
I set out to make something different. I made sketches of a uniquely shaped stool. During the build process, I realized I needed to engineer it in a way that it would not fall over. The “D” shaped ring at the base was not in my original design. This addition to the base added the stability the stools needed. One of the things I believe is important in any design is how “green” it is. For this project, I used reclaimed plywood for the seats. The plywood strips were vertically laminated together, which gives them a butcher-block look. I decided to go with a semi-flat black finish to match most living spaces
